Amber Monique Denise Tillman was born on July 25, 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the 2nd child and only daughter of her parents, Milfred Tillman and Michelle Tillman-Johnson.
Growing up in Indianapolis, Amber was an outgoing and expressive young lady. She was fun-loving, inquisitive, and a true encourager. She showed her personality through her creativity, her stylish clothes, and her natural beauty. Amber was a licensed cosmetologist, entrepreneur, and born leader who used her gifts to make other ladies feel beautiful, confident, and loved by God.
She graduated from Lawrence North High School in 1999 and attended the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, IN. While there, Amber joined the Body of Christ Campus Ministries where she met the love of her life and her best friend- Darrell (DeeJay) Roberts. They fell in love and married on October 29, 2005 at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church. Amber and Deejay created five beautiful children together–Kamron Zion (Age 20), Kaleb Josiah (18), Divine Joy (16), Alana Grace (14), and Serenity Love (5) Roberts.
Amber and Deejay grew in ministry together and became a force for God, with their bond and their tag- team ministry model at the forefront of their assignment. Together they pastored Haven House of Prayer in Evansville, IN. In 2015, they shifted their ministry and made their home together in Charlotte, North Carolina where they lived for 11 years. While in Charlotte, Amber and Deejay continued in ministry through prayer, music, and preaching. Amber was a faithful servant and powerfully prophetic woman of God who was close to God and genuinely loved His people. She was never ashamed to share her testimony and a word from the Lord with others. Amber also pastored Vizion City Church alongside her husband in North Carolina.
In addition to being sold-out for Christ, Amber modeled strength and grace through her battle with Sickle Cell Anemia.
She never wasted an opportunity to share with the world how the Lord was her healer and let us watch her worship Him and despite her pain, she always looked for her assignment. Amber not only fought the disease, but she fought for healing and to let people know that her disease was not her life, only a part of it.
Amber was a woman of style and would often say that fashion was her love language. She wanted to inspire and empower women through fashion and faith by blending her love for both through her boutique- Love Amber Co. Her business motto was “flourishing in faith, elevating in style”.
Amber Monique Denise Roberts was indeed a warrior and the Lord called her home to sweet rest on Thursday, March 26, 2026. She was surrounded by her husband and their children.
Awaiting Amber in Heaven were her grandparents Maxine Woodmore, and Adam and Jerelene Tillman along with several other family members and friends.
Amber leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Darrell (Deejay) Roberts and their five children Kamron, Kaleb,
Divine, Alana, and Serenity; her parents: Milfred Tillman and Michelle (Craig) Johnson; and her brothers: Devin, Joseph and Joshua Tillman. She was loved by all and will be missed by her aunts, uncle, cousins, other family members and friends.
