Aramis Avanti Rankin, beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, passed away on July 7, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on April 4, 1990, in Hickory, North Carolina, Aramis grew up with a spirit of adventure and curiosity that would lead her to explore the world.
A proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, class of 2015, Aramis dedicated herself not just to her education but to life experiences that enriched her soul. She had an insatiable desire to travel, proudly collecting stamps in her passport from remarkable places around the globe. From the stunning landscapes of Africa, which she visited twice, to the vibrant cultures of Mexico and Cuba, Aramis embraced the beauty of diverse environments.
Aramis unapologetically lived her life to the fullest and cared deeply for her family and friends. She never met a stranger and often blessed others with her caring spirit and infectious smile. Her love for life was further expressed through her fondness for the beach, where the waves and sunshine brought her great joy. Aramis was also a true aficionado of fine dining, often seeking out new restaurants to savor exquisite culinary experiences. Music played an integral role in her life; she delighted in attending concerts and music festivals, reveling in the rhythms that filled her heart with happiness.
Aramis took great pride in her appearance, celebrated all things beauty-related, and meticulously cared for her nails, which reflected her vibrant personality. Her warmth and vivacity touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving parents, Christopher Smith and Roselyn Rankin; her siblings Trevan, Brandon Smith, Christopher Smith II, Jamaris Smith, Brian Holmes, Chelsea Smith, Christal Smith , Charmaine Smith, & Clarrisa Smith, her cherished aunts, Teresa Reasons, Shirley Reinhardt, Angela Mauney, and Diretha Stinson; her uncles, Alvin Stinson, Teddy Jolly, Alfred Jolly, Robert Reinhardt and Ray Reinhardt; her dear cousin, Nastasha Reinhardt, and a host of godchildren. The legacy of Aramis’ adventurous spirit and loving heart will always be remembered, leaving an enduring imprint on the lives of her family and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Chapel, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. A memorial service will follow at 6:00pm.
