Candido Elipidio Santiago

Candido Elpidio Santiago, 88, of Concord, NC, passed away on June 29, 2025.

Candido Santiago was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on March 14,1937 to the late Candido and Florentina Santiago.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Santiago; his son, Julio Santiago; his son, Ivan Santiago; his daughter Moira Brookshire; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In his early years, he lived on his family’s farm in Puerto Rico, before moving to Miami, FL, then to Erwin, TN. While in Tennessee, he had the reputation of being the best auto mechanic around. Finally moving to North Carolina where he was a construction worker and welder until he retired at the age of 80.

He loved spending time with his family, listening to 1950’s music very loud and antique cars. He restored two 1950 Ford Coupes.
