Celia Lynne Galloway

Oct 6, 1942 — Oct 21, 2026

Concord, NC

Celia Lynne Pardue Galloway, age 84, of Concord, NC passed away on October 21, 2026 after varied health complications.

Known to friends and family as Lynne, she was born in Port Arthur, TX on October 6, 1942 to the late Dwight Pardue and Cleo Pardue. Along with her parents, Lynne is preceded in death by her brothers David Pardue and Steve Pardue. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bill Galloway; her daughter Cindi Roady and her husband Art Roady; her daughter Michelle Trott and her husband John Trott, her daughter Angela Cox and her husband Jason Cox; her sister Sherry Lightfoot and her husband Mal Lightfoot, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren (and one more on the way!) as well as many close friends.

Lynne grew up in Port Arthur, TX in a family with her three siblings: Sherry, David and Steve. They were active members of Proctor Street Baptist Church. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. Later, she met Bill Galloway, while they were both working for DuPont. They married on February 8, 1964. They were soon transferred to Richmond,VA, where their first daughter Cynthia Kay (Cindi) was born. After moving to Dallas, TX, their second daughter, Michelle Renee, was born in 1969. While in Dallas, they were members of Ridgeview Presbyterian Church, until they moved

to a larger house in Dallas, where Angela Lynne, their third daughter was born in 1977. In 1990, Lynne, Bill and Angela moved to Concord, NC, where they became members of Prosperity Presbyterian Church, then later changed membership to Hickory Grove Baptist where they established many great relationships and continued to grow in their walk with God.

Ever a fighter, Lynne was a breast cancer survivor in 1983 and also defeated a long stint of bacterial pneumonia in 1995. She always led with her heart and championed others to do the same. She raised money for charity through the YMCA by swimming the equivalent of the width of the English Channel. She also volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center in Concord in the late 90's and early 2000s to support those in need. Lynne was involved in several choirs over the years through her church and community, including the Concord Women's Chorale. She was especially proud of performances of Handel's Messiah at Christmas Time.

Lynne is known for her beautiful singing voice, Bible study, love of butterflies, her witty humor and unintentional puns, and her grace on the dance floor. She faithfully raised her three daughters and supported her husband Bill, of 62 years. She will be dearly missed. We will meet her again in heaven.
