BJ had a brilliant mind, a beautiful smile, and a witty sense of humor that made him unforgettable.
Clarence Tucker Jr., affectionately known as “BJ,” was born on May 26, 1972, to the late Clarence Tucker Sr. and the late Vivian Tucker. He passed away on October 13, 2026, following his battle with cancer.
BJ had a brilliant mind, a beautiful smile, and a witty sense of humor that made him unforgettable. A math wizard from an early age, he placed third in the nation in Academic Games. He graduated from Chadsey High School in Detroit, Michigan, and attended Florida A&M University.
His gift for numbers followed him to the card table, where he was a formidable spades and poker player. He could count cards like no other, and a game with BJ was sure to come with laughter and a little friendly competition. He also loved movies and had a knack for delivering just the right movie one-liner for any occasion.
BJ devoted much of his working life to hospitality, beginning in the kitchen before bringing his warmth, wit, and welcoming smile to the table as a server. In his early years, he played a pivotal role in opening several Red Lobster restaurants in North Carolina. For more than a decade, he worked at LongHorn Steakhouse, where his smile, quick wit, thoughtful words of wisdom, and ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on coworkers and guests alike.
BJ devoted much of his working life to hospitality, beginning in the kitchen before bringing his warmth, wit, and welcoming smile to the table as a server.
Unapologetically himself, BJ lived life on his own terms. Beneath his humor was a loving, generous human being who gave so much to so many. His presence brought joy, and the stories, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will continue to bring people together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Tucker Sr. and Vivian Tucker. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Kimberly Hall; his brother, David Ash; his nephews, Cameron Buck and Damian Ash; his loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the many friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
BJ will be deeply missed and always remembered with love, with laughter, and with a smile.
