Deanna Marie Tanner, 74, of Cornelius, NC passed away on July 12, 2026.
a devoted member of St. Peter's by the Lake, where she found a loving church family
Deanna Blazavich was born in Indiana, PA on December 29, 1951 to the late Stanley T. Blazavich and Sophie L. Blazavich.
Along with her parents Deanna Tanner is preceded in death by her husband Barry Tanner, daughter Nicole Walker, granddaughter Janelle Walker and great grandson Tanner Walker.
She is survived by her son Joshua Tanner, her constant source of pride and joy; brothers and sister Michael Blazavich (Lori), Andrea Sorrentino (Vince), and David Blazavich (Kelly); grandsons Nicholas Walker, Benjamin Walker (Telia Campos) and Peyton Tanner; great grandchildren Braxton and Blakelynn Watson and Ryland Walker; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Deanna was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend and loved one whose kindness, strength and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a warm heart, a beautiful smile, and a remarkable ability to make others feel welcomed and cared for. She was passionate about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They meant the world to her.
She dedicated much of her career to nursing and healthcare where her compassion and kindness touched the lives of many. She also worked as a hair stylist using her creativity and warm personality to help others look and feel their best.
Deanna made her last home in Cornelius NC at Autumn Care. She cherished the laughter, memories and new friendships that enriched her life. Her special friend Carol Cribb made life even easier. A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Deanna found comfort, strength and purpose in her relationship with God. She was a devoted member of St. Peter's by the Lake, where she found a loving church family.
Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared and the lives she touched will never be forgotten. Deanna will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May she rest in peace.
