Diane Barnes, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, in Kannapolis, North Carolina. She was born on December 27, 1945, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a place that always held a special significance in her heart.

Diane’s life was a testament to kindness, compassion, and unwavering patience. She was the kindest, most caring person whose gentle spirit and capacity for love touched everyone she met. Her legacy is one of immense love, profound kindness, and remarkable strength—qualities that have shaped and inspired those fortunate enough to know her. Diane’s love and compassion were unwavering, and her presence brought comfort and encouragement to friends and family alike.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Barnes; her devoted granddaughters, Katie Fowler(Bruce) and Sara Barnes; her cherished great-grandsons, Trey Fowler and Sawyer Fowler, and great granddaughter, Jaysa Ruppe Fowler; and her supportive daughter-in-law, Robin Barnes. Diane’s family was her pride and joy, the foundation on which she built a life full of warmth, laughter, and enduring bonds.

Diane is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Barnes, and her dear son, Jeff Barnes. Their memories remain forever in the hearts of those who love them.

To honor Diane Barnes’s life and the indelible mark she leaves behind, a Memorial Service will be held on July 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Faith Tabernacle Church of Spartanburg, located at 1025 Howard St, Spartanburg, SC 29303. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital stjude.org or Drayton Baptist Church, 1645 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Diane will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her.
