Donald Cecil Brownlee, a devoted man of faith whose life was profoundly shaped by love, service, and compassion, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on November 4, 1964, in Asheville, North Carolina, Donald lived a life that was a testament to kindness, friendship, and unwavering dedication to those around him.
Throughout his life, Donald deeply loved God and treasured his family. He found great joy in serving his community and building lasting friendships with everyone he met. His warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Donald is survived by his beloved sister, Viola Aiken of Due West, South Carolina; his brother Wallace Brownlee of Asheville, North Carolina; sister Rayona Allen of Phenix City, Alabama; brother John Brownlee of Edneyville, North Carolina; sister Thomasina Brownlee of Asheville, North Carolina; sister Shirley Johnson of Asheville, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Allie Pearl Brownlee, and his brother, Leroy Brownlee. Their memories live on in the hearts of their family and friends.
A Memorial Service honoring Donald’s remarkable life will be held on May 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at 6620 Rockwell Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28269. All who knew him are invited to join in remembering a man whose faith and generosity remain an inspiring legacy. A memorial service will be held in Asheville at a later date. Details will be provided once they are finalized.
Donald Cecil Brownlee will be remembered for his unfailing devotion to his faith and family, his relentless kindness, and the generosity of soul that defined his life. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and values will endure in the lives of those he touched.
