Edward James Reilly

Edward James Reilly, age 83, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, passed away on December 7, 2025.

Ed was born on August 28, 1942, in Honeoye Falls, New York. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Reilly; step-brother, Lawrence Kleinhans; and step-sister, Jean Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his children, Greg Reilly (Amy), Michele Bascom (Mark), Rachael Gregor (Shawn), and Jason Weinstein (Maria); his grandchildren, Cooper, Troy, Daniella, Mallory, Joshua, Tyler, Jacob, Samantha, and Jacqueline; his great-granddaughter, Josephine; and his beloved fur baby, Lucy.

After graduating high school, Ed joined the U.S. Army, serving for two years as a chaplain’s assistant. Following his discharge, he began a long career with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, working as a machinist and retiring after 27 years of dedicated service.

Upon retirement, Ed and Joanne moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where they purchased and operated a small cleaning business. In 2000, they relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where Ed worked in several roles until his full retirement in 2008.

Ed was known for his kind, gentle spirit and his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He loved nearly all sports and enjoyed playing racquetball, basketball, and pickleball. He also cherished his daily walks with his dog, Lucy, and above all, he deeply loved his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 10:30–11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 5315 State Hwy 49, Harrisburg, NC 28075.
