Elizabeth V. Reed Borum was born and raised in New York City to the late Clarence M. and Dorothy L. Reed. The LORD called her home on January 31, 2024.
Her education was in Harlem, NY. It was in Harlem where she met and married her beloved husband Navorn Borum, Sr. To this union there were three children born. LaVerne, Navorn Jr. and Azizah.
Elizabeth was employed at MaBell and Verizon. After twenty-five (25) years of service she retired.
To know Elizabeth was to love her. She was very straightforward and selfless. Her personality was phenomenal. She was very independent, kind, nurturing, compassionate, immolate and so much more. Words alone cannot express.
She was baptized one of Jehovah's Witness in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was given hospice and palliative care at home by her loving daughter Azizah and visited by caring and loving attendants from Charlotte Reginald under the watchful care of Esther Blanks, MD.
She leaves to cherish her memories two brothers, Phillip and Jerome Reed, two daughters LaVerne Borum Green, Azizah Borum Muslim, son-in-law Jaabir Muslim, daughters-in-law Phyllis Paris Borum, sisters-in law Yvonne Watson and Delores Watson-Overstreet of New York City, honorable sister-in-law Juanita(aka Carrot), three grandsons Antone and Devione Green and Arabee Muslim, granddaughter Gabrielle M. Borum, great granddaughter Averi L. Green, two granddaughters in law Portlyn and Aquyla Green, embraced grandson Quadre Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Dorothy Reed, her beloved husband and her son Navorn Borum Sr. and Navorn Borum, Jr., brothers Vincent, Freddie, Robert, Theodore Reed and sister Rose Ann Reed, and niece Courtney Reed.
She was a beautiful person inside as well as outside. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will honor her with a public viewing February 6, 2024 at 10:00AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00AM. Her final resting place will be at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens (1504 W. Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262).
