Felix Martinez-Hernandez, 91, of Carolina, Puerto Rico passed away on June 23, 2026 in Charlotte, NC. He was born on December 23, 1934, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, to the late Felix Martinez-Rigau and Trinidad Hernandez De La Cruz. Felix moved to Puerto Rico at the age of 9 to live with his father’s family, where he was received with great love by his beloved stepmother, Esther, his siblings, and aunts and uncles. He went on to spend his life building a legacy rooted in devotion to his family and service to his community. 

Felix will be remembered as a source of strength, love, sacrifice, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His life was filled with multiple caring acts, meaningful lessons, and unconditional love. The values he shared and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Felix was preceded in death by his baby son Felix Gerardo Martinez; his parents, Felix Martinez-Rigau and Trinidad Hernandez De La Cruz, and his stepmother, Esther Rodriguez-Zenquis; his brother, Luis Martinez; his sisters, Norma Martinez, and Maria Hernandez, and his son-in-law, Dale Lapre.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Carmen Luz Gonzalez; his daughters, Idalisse Martinez (Manuel Rodriguez), Adeleen Dimas-Martinez (Richard), and Doralie Martinez Lapre; his grandchildren, Naira Delgado (Javier Romero), Joshua Rodriguez, Ian Rodriguez, Keira Segarra, Millena Lapre, Shamira Lapre, and step-granddaughter Heather Dimas; his great-grandson, Javier Ignacio Romero, his nieces and nephews.

Services honoring Felix’s life will be held on June 26, 2026, at Raymer-Kepner Chapel, located at 16901 Old Statesville Road in Huntersville, North Carolina. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
