Franklin Lee Michael, Sr., 71, passed away November 6, 2018 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC after a short battle with cancer.

Franklin was born June 30, 1947 to the late Ramsey and Grace Michael  in Whitesville, WV.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Frank loved to laugh and spending time with his family brought him great joy. He was known for his caring heart .  Many remember him for his generous nature and that he always wanted to make sure others were taken care of.  Through the years, Franklin was a member of the Matthews Postal Board and he worked in the newspaper/printing industry.  He attended Grace Crossing Baptist Fellowship in Charlotte, NC.

Franklin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila Michael, daughter Angela Grey (Rick), son Franklin Michael Jr. (Jill), brother David Michael, grandchildren Evan, Addison, Hannah, and Samuel, and honorary grandson James Grey. He will be greatly missed but remain in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his siblings Ramsey Michael Jr, Betty Kinder, Barbara Murray, Mary Jane Pack, Larry Michael, Patricia Massey, and Helen Yonkers.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2pm at Grace Crossing Baptist Fellowship located at 5600 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28215. Pastor Jason Blanton will be officiating.
