Gregory Allen Dodd (Greg), 61, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Greg was born November 7, 1964, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Rev. Louis and Mary (Butler) Dodd.

Greg had a servant’s heart and found great purpose in helping others. He served on the Alleghany County Board of Supervisors as the Clifton Forge representative, chaired the Camp ACCOVAC Board, represented the Virginia Advent Christian Conference on the Appalachian Region Executive Board, and served as audio-visual technician at Lonestar Advent Christian Church.

Greg’s church family was especially dear to him. As a longtime member of Central Advent Christian Church, he served faithfully in audio-visual ministry and, over the years, as deacon, First Elder, Second Elder, and Chairman of the Deacon Board. His quiet dedication was a blessing to many.

Greg is survived by his four siblings: Cindy (Ric) Childress of Cross Lanes, WV; Steve (Debbie) Dodd of Winfield, WV; Pam (Lyndon) Ross of Auburn, ME; and Andy (Angel) Dodd of Midland, NC. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews: Andrea Maynard of Lexington, KY; Nick Dodd of Charleston, WV; Matt (Melissa) Childress of Scott Depot, WV; Hanna (John) Stohlman of Milford, OH; Kevin (Sarah) Dodd of Hickory, NC; and Claire (Shane) Cloutier of Pittsfield, ME; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews: Riley, Erin, Madison, Mallory, Scott, Ross, and Miles.

Greg was a 1983 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School in Clendenin, WV, and remained a proud Huskies supporter. He was also a devoted WVU Mountaineer fan and was rarely seen without a WVU hat or T-shirt. Let’s Go…Mountaineers!

Greg’s family is deeply grateful to Gene and Sylvia Ayers and J.W. and Pam Dudding for the help, kindness, support, and love they showed him, and to the wonderful staff at Tucker Hospice House for their care, compassion, and dignity.

The family will receive friends on August 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the service at 1:00 p.m. at Central Advent Christian Church, The Big Rock Church, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
