Ms. Gyndelyn Easterling lovingly known as "Sista" by her family and friends, was born on May 13, 1948 to the late Willie Jacob "Buck" and Mrs. Almenia Georgia Mcleod Easterling in Scotland County (Laurinburg, NC). Gyn quietly and peacefully succumbed to the call of the Heavenly Father on Monday, April 13, 2026. Her beloved sister, Carolyn "Cat" Easterling Fields and two brothers; Walter James "Pete" Easterling and Sherman Harrison Easterling, as well as two sister-in-laws Bobbie Fairley Easterling and Carrie Brown Easterling; welcomed her to her Heavenly Home.
Gyn received her education in Scotland County Public school system and graduated from Shaw High School in 1966. Upon graduation Gyn attended JobCorp in Statesville, NC, where she earned a business certificate. Following her graduation from JobCorp, she relocated to Washington DC and begin her career in government services. Gyn held several jobs throughout her career. Her longest tenure was with Dana Corporation where she worked for 25 years. When Gyn retired, she continued to serve in the community as a caregiver at Scotia Village, secretary at Laurinburg community center, and found joy being a Substitute Teacher.
Gyn accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Cool Springs United Methodist Church, where she worshiped for many years. As she continue to grow in her Faith, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served as Release Society President, Sunday School Teacher and member of the Young Women's Council. Her lifelong friends are Ms.Joan Gillespie, Ms. Lizzie Graham, Ms. Betty Long, and Ms. Helen Silver.
Celebrating the wonders of God's love in her life...Gyn leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter; Tarsha Easterling and son-in-law Sammy L Brown; granddaughter Sanaa, Le'Tayzhia Brown, and grandson Khalil LeVon McNair. Two brothers: Vernon Easterling and Robert (Dorothy) Easterling; one Aunt: Dahlia Harris; two Uncles Ephram Williams and Charles Clinton "Clint" McLeod; Nieces and Nephews (Crystal, Angie, Debora’h, Lee, Lance, Tonia, Meeka, Drake, Damion, Dion and Jarrel) other relatives and friends.
Gyn loved house plants. In lieu of flowers, the family request that plants be sent to the church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00am, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 310 Roberdell Road Rockingham NC 28379-2773.
