A Time to Be Born and a Time to Die
Mr. Harvey Lee Gray, was born in Rowan County, North Carolina to the late Luther Gray and Mary Harriet Summers Gray on November 06, 1939. He departed his earthly life on February 18, 2026 at Gordon’s Hospice House in Statesville, NC.
A Time of Growth
Mr. Harvey Gray, was added to the Highland Acres Church of Christ on October 28, 2003 where he served within the church. He served as a leader around the table, bus driver, bible studies, and assisted within may areas of the church. He loved fishing, lawn beautification, painting, traveling, fixing things, and spending time with his family. He had a kindness and an unexplainable love for all of his family and friends.
A Time to Serve
Mr. Harvey Gray was educated in the Rowan & Iredell County. He entered the United States Army in 1966 and was honorably discharged 1969. He served during the Vietnam War and was a Veteran. He received decorated medals of honor of sharpshooter, expert shooter, and Vietnam service. He worked 29 years for Hunt Manufacturing, 7 years for Speedball Art Products, & 10 years for Manheim of Statesville. Harvey always did his best to serve within his community & family, help others, and share many of God’s blessings which were bestowed upon him.
A Time to Love
On November 27, 1976, Mr. Harvey Gray, was joined in matrimony to Ms. Geneva Mildred Whiteside in Statesville, North Carolina. Harvey was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

A Time to Remember
Preceding him in death include, his parents, Mr. Luther and Mrs. Mary Harriet Summers Gray, siblings: brothers, Mr. John Lindsay Gray, Mr. Theodore Gray, Sr., Mr. Daniel “David” Cornelius Gray, sisters Mrs. Eva Mae Gray Sanders, Mrs. Ruth Marie Gray Jones, Ms. Noami Gray, Ms. Lucille Gray, Ms. Doris Yvonne Gray, and Ms. Sherry Jona Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife of 50 years, Mrs. Geneva Mildred Whiteside Gray, four daughters, Sapheria (James) Riddick of Statesville, Latonia (Darrell) Clark of Charlotte, April Gray of Claremont, NC, Ivy Gray of the home, four granddaughters Jamie Riddick of Statesville, NC, Jasmine (Courtney) Wilkins of Illinois, Jaliana Pearson, Claremont NC, Ava Gray of the home, one grandson Jamil Lizardi Claremont, NC, and three great grandchildren Josiah Riddick-Reid, Nova Wilkins, & Jaiden Riddick. Three sisters Mrs. Juanita Gray Ijames of Woodleaf, NC, Mrs. Thelma Gray (Nathaniel) Stevenson of Greensboro, NC., and Ms. Saundra Louise Gray of Statesville, NC, One brother-in-law, Mr. Robert Whiteside of Statesville, NC, and three sister-in-laws Mrs. Hattie Sue Pruitt Gray of Statesville, Mrs. Mamie Mallory of Washington, DC, and Mrs. Eva (James) Corry of Statesville, NC. A host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
