Hector Zepeda

Hector Zepeda, 63, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on July 3rd, 2024.

Hector was born in Guatemala City on December 29th, 1960 to Filemon Zepeda and the late Catalina Barrundia.

Hector is survived by his wife, Ileana Zepeda, his two daughters, Samantha and Natalie Zepeda, and his grandsons, Ezra and Zahir.

Hector had an adventurous and fearless spirit, always striving to give his family a life full of unforgettable experiences. An avid outdoorsman, Hector made sure to show his daughters and grandsons the beauty of nature by teaching them to not be scared of it, but to embrace it with curiosity. Hector was a movie enthusiast, always discovering and staying up to date on all newly released movies. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Hector spent countless afternoons swimming with his grandsons and taking them to local parks for quality time. Hector loved loving people and he enjoyed hosting, often uniting everyone for family outings and gatherings. Hector was headstrong from a young age, always naturally taking on a leadership role in every aspect of life. Hector found Jesus at the age of eight and went on to graduate from the biblical institute later on in life. He spread the word of Jesus and enjoyed teaching family members in Guatemala and New York about God's word. Countless extended family members and friends held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. He will be remembered for his Christ-centered wisdom, for his genuinely contagious laugh, and his kind-hearted spirit.

Hector nació en la Ciudad de Guatemala el 29 de diciembre de 1960, hijo de Filemón Zepeda y la fallecida Catalina Barrundia.

A Hector le sobreviven, su esposa, Ileana Zepeda, sus dos hijas, Samantha y Natalie Zepeda, y sus nietos, Ezra y Zahir.

Hector tenía un espíritu aventurero y valiente, siempre esforzándose por darle a su familia una vida llena de experiencias inolvidables. Apasionado por la naturaleza, Hector se aseguró de mostrar a sus hijas y nietos la belleza de la naturaleza enseñándoles a no tener miedo de ella, sino a abrazarla con curiosidad. Hector era un entusiasta del cine, siempre descubriendo y manteniéndose al día con todas las películas recién estrenadas. Sobre todo, disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus nietos. Hector pasó innumerables tardes nadando con sus nietos y llevándolos a parques locales para pasar tiempo de calidad. Hector amaba a las personas y disfrutaba de ser anfitrión, a menudo uniendo a todos para salidas y reuniones familiares. Desde joven, Hector fue decidido, siempre asumiendo naturalmente un papel de liderazgo en todos los aspectos de la vida. Hector encontró a Dios a los ocho años y en su aldutez se graduó del instituto bíblico. Él disfrtuaba compartír el evangelio e igualmente disfrutaba enseñarles a miembros de su familia en Guatemala y Nueva York acerca de la palabra de Dios. Incontables miembros de la familia y amigos lo tenían en alta estima y lo amaban profundamente. Será recordado por su sabiduría centrada en Cristo, por su risa genuinamente contagiosa y por su espíritu bondadoso.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Raymer-Kepner Chapel located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
