James Lennard II, lovingly known as Jim, Jimmy, and to some as Jimmy Chase, was born on January 11, 1946. He departed this life on February 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, discipline, loyalty, and unmistakable presence.
James was a true New Yorker. Comfortable and welcomed in all boroughs of New York City, he moved through them as if he owned them. His stride was confident, his word was solid, and his reputation preceded him. Ask anyone about James, and they will tell you simply, “He is family.”
For over 35 years, James dedicated himself to a career in banking. He embodied discipline and a relentless work ethic. He believed in showing up, standing firm, and doing things the right way. His commitment to his work reflected the way he lived his life—with structure, pride, and integrity.
A die-hard fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants, James loved sports and carried that same loyalty and passion into everything he supported. Win or lose, he stood firm—just as he did in life.
James was a man who saw no color nor race when it came to people. He judged no one by appearances—only by their hearts. If your heart was good, you were good with him. Though he could be a loner, he was never alone. His quiet strength and steady presence drew people in.
He is survived by his three beloved children: his daughter Eyeisha, and his twin sons, James lll and Jermaine in addition to his wife of 40 years Blanca. He leaves behind one of two sisters, Cora, and a host of cherished family and friends who loved him deeply.
James was a father, a brother, an uncle, a husband, and a grandfather—but more than anything, he was ours. There will only ever be one James Lennard II.
The loss is ours.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that James is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering. He has reunited in heaven with his beloved mother and sister, and we trust that he now watches over us as our guardian angel—steady, protective, and present, just as he always was.
