Jessie was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, living life with an extraordinary zest and an infectious joy.
Jessie Kathleen Wright, a vibrant soul who lit up every room she entered, passed away on June 13, 2026, at the tender age of four. Born on November 1, 2021, to her loving and devoted mother, Brittany Starnes. Jessie was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, living life with an extraordinary zest and an infectious joy.
Jessie’s personality was as colorful as the bright hues she loved so dearly. From the gentle sway of a swing to the exhilarating speed of her 4-wheeler, from the enchanting worlds of mini golf to the simple joy of riding her bike, she embraced each moment with pure delight. Her passions extended to the natural world; she adored the beach, had a heartfelt fondness for sea turtles, and a playful affection for monkeys. Pink was her favorite color, and she had an undeniable love for all things bright, illuminating the lives around her with her cheerful spirit.
While her time with us was brief, Jessie made an indelible mark on her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest, inspiring everyone to cherish the small moments and find happiness in the everyday joys.
Jessie is survived by her loving brother John Wayne Wright and sister Alana Rose, who will forever hold her memory close. She was dearly loved by her Paw Paw Scotty Lee Starnes and his wife Angie, Mimi Lorita Childress, and Paw Paw Robert Mitchell Motley III. Her grand parents Sonny and Lisa Dawn Fink also cherished her deeply. Jessie’s family circle extends lovingly to cousins Christian Hagy, Wilson Hagy, and Gabriel Hagy, as well as Auntie Katlyn Thompson, Uncle Matt Thompson, and her sisters Grayceyn Thompson and Elliana Thompson. Uncle Matt Starnes and a host of extended family members join in mourning the loss of this beautiful child whose innocence and joy touched so many lives.

Jessie’s grandmothers Kathleen Cranford and Jessie Ruth Cress , who have gone before her, watch over her from beyond.
A lunch will be held on June 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM at Fisher Street Baptist Church, 810 Fisher St, Concord, NC 28027. A celebration of Jessie’s life will follow the lunch at 1:00 PM at Fisher Street Baptist Church, 810 Fisher St, Concord, NC 28027. This gathering will honor the spirit of a little girl whose love for life and bright presence will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are heavy, the memory of Jessie Kathleen Wright shines on, a beacon of pure love, laughter, and the endless beauty found in a life well-lived, no matter how brief. Her legacy is one of joy, spirited adventure, and the precious gift of having loved and been loved so deeply. She will be dearly missed and forever treasured.
