Joe Davis Canaday, Jr.

Joe Canaday, Jr, 73 of Rockwell, NC passed away on September 11, 2025.

Joe Davis Canaday, Jr was born in Mecklenburg County on January 9,1952 to the late Joe Davis Canaday, Sr. and Geneva Byrd Canaday

He is survived by wife Brenda Canaday, sons Michael Canaday, Daniel Canaday, Johnathan Robinson, David Paxton(Emily) daughter, Heather Canaday, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and sisters, Gay Green, Patricia Bragg and brother Wayne Glaze (Tammy).

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 4:00pm at Sloan Lake Community Church (140 Glory Road China Grove 28023).

Joe worked for Freightliner for 18 years after working 24 years in Glasswork. Joe was always there no matter what, with a smile on his face and a warm hug to greet you. He was a member of Sloan Lake Community Church and he loved his church. Joe was a Godly man, a good dad, amazing pawpaw and the best husband you could ever ask for. He was the best man that God ever created. He always put God first. The joke was; he always referred to Kathleen "Kat" Finney as his second wife. He invited Kat into his and Brenda’s lives and he always appreciated everything she did for Brenda and himself. He was the kind of dad that loved his children and would do anything for them. Joe loved his family and friends unconditionally. He always had a bright smile and a positive attitude.

Joe will be missed in so many ways. If you knew him then you know what a difference he made in your lives. One thing I know is that Heaven received the "Best Angel Ever". Joe would want everyone to remember him by continuing to love God and do his work. He would want us to celebrate his life and take lessons from him so we can walk a little closer to God as we know his life was a shining example of a loving Christian man, brother, loving husband, father pawpaw, great grandpaw and friend. He will be remembered today and always.
