Marieanna passed peacefully from this life on the morning of March 2, 2026 after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and lovingly supported by her family and devoted caregivers during her final days.
Affectionately known as Nana, Nanort. Marieanna was born on June 27, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She was the loving mother of three children; Shainah, Ricardo, and Reginald before immigrating to the United States on December 8, 1981, in search of greater opportunities for her family.
Upon arriving in America, she settled in Brooklyn, New York. Her first job was at a perfume factory, Cosmetic Components, in Queens, New York. After coming to the United States, she welcomed her fourth child, Soraya. As an immigrant mother, she worked tirelessly and selflessly, always striving to provide the very best for her children.
Our Parents eventually purchased a home in Cambria Heights, New York, where they built a foundation of love and stability for their family. She later worked in Glen Cove, New York, at UCP for 28 dedicated years before retiring in 2015. After retirement, she sold her home and later moved to Kannapolis, North Carolina, where she resided with her daughter Soraya for the remainder of her life.
Life was not always easy for Marieanna, but her faith remained strong. As the Bible reminds us in Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” . Though life can be challenging, it is never without hope or divine purpose.
She carried this belief in her heart and demonstrated resilience, strength, and unwavering love throughout her life.
Marieanna leaves to cherish her memory her four children: Shainah, Ricardo, Reginald, and Soraya; her son-in-law, Maxeau; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Adrianna, Nazir, Ayana, Jeremy, and the late Jeremiah; and one great-grandchild, A’zaiah. She is also lovingly remembered by her beloved sister, Mireille (“Mimi”); her cherished niece, Rachelle (“Rachou”); her dear nephew, Dylan (“Didi”); and a multitude of brothers and sisters as well as the Brignol family.
She is now reunited in heaven with our Lord God her Father Price Brignol, and her precious grandchild Jeremiah who welcomed her with open arms.
Her legacy of strength, sacrifice, faith, and unconditional love will live on in all who knew and loved her
