Marinell Wilhite Cline

Marinell Wilhite Cline, 70, of Harrisburg, NC passed away on June 12, 2023, surrounded by family. Newy, as she was known, was born in Mobile, AL on May 20, 1953 to the late, Roy Cornace Wilhite, Sr. and Nellie Catherine Wilhite.

Along with her parents, Newy is preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Cornace Wilhite, Jr. and John J. Wilhite.

She is survived by her former husband and friend, David Cline; daughter, Catherine McCormack; sons, Jason Cline, Joseph Cline, and Christopher Cline; grandchildren, Raelynne and Monte McCormack; brother, Michael H. Wilhite; sister, Elizabeth S. Wilhite; and sister, Teresa W. Cash.

The family will receive friends and pray the rosary at 1:00pm at Saint James the Greater Catholic Church located at 139 Manor Ave. SW, Concord, NC 28025 on Friday, July 7, 2023.  The funeral mass will be held at 1:30pm.  Interment will immediately follow the mass at St. James Catholic Cemetery.  A meal honoring Newy will be provided by the church after interment.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and coach. She will be missed terribly. Cancer was part of her life, but it was not her whole life. She never stopped fighting and was victorious as she entered into the fullness of life in Heaven. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance looks like. Her joy for life with her family and friends kept her pushing through the pain. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
