Michelle Lea Calhoun, a devoted caregiver and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Matthews, North Carolina. Born on September 8, 1972, in Ash County, North Carolina, Michelle lived a life marked by compassion and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others.
Known for being the sweetest, most loving, and caring soul, Michelle’s heart overflowed with kindness. She devoted herself to nurturing and supporting not only her family but anyone who crossed her path. Her genuine nature and selfless spirit made her a cherished caregiver.
In the final years of her life, Michelle embraced her faith anew, returning to church. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment with Josslyn, Bentley, Makenzleigh, Heavenleigh, Kaylee, and Braylon. To Michelle, family was everything—the heartbeat of her existence. She took immense pride and pleasure in caring for her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own.
