Ms. Monique Patrice Holt was born October 7, 1970, in Winston-Salem, NC. Her parents were the late Alfred W. Holt and Betty L. Witherspoon. She quietly slipped away to her eternal home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Hospice of Cabarrus County in Kannapolis, NC following an extended period of illness.
Prior to her extended stay in Accordius Health facility, Monique worked in various companies which offered programs to support adults with special needs. While working, Monique was very proud of her apartment and absolutely loved her independence. She eventually moved to Charlotte with her mother, sister, brother in law, and her nephew and nieces.
Monique loved to watch TV, movies, and listen to music. She had this infectious laugh that would cause everyone else around her to laugh and just enjoy being with her. She also had a special ability for remembering people AND their birthdays. She was always thoughtful of others and wanted them to feel special on their birthday.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Angela Holt Burgess (Stacy) and brother Omar Holt; one nephew, Marquel Holt, two nieces, Madison Burgess and Morgan Burgess; four uncles, Bobby Little, Joseph Brown, Larry Brown, Thomas Brown; four aunts, Minnie L. Stephens (Tyro), Pamela L. Winn, Barbara Holt Hurt, Marie Brown; step-mother Catherine Holt, a very special great aunt, Hazel C. Morton; and a host of cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:00AM at Evergreen Cemetery located at 2124 New Walkertown Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
