Nancy Elizabeth Boyden, 65, died Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.

She was born September 14, 1960, to the late Deane and Joan (Plourde) Boyden in Providence, RI. She resided in Concord, NC, for the last 40 years.

Nancy exhibited artistic skill and talent from an early age. After graduating in 1978 from Barrington High School in Barrington, RI, she attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in 1982. She was particularly riveted by Ancient Egyptian art and history and furthered her education through coursework through the University of Cairo in Cairo Egypt and Queens University, in Charlotte, NC. Much of her early artwork was inspired by living in the Middle East for several years during her twenties. In 1986, she performed restoration work on the Hotel Washington. Throughout her life, she worked as a visual artist, doing multimedia, commissioned artwork. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting, and any activity through which her creative spirit could flourish.

Additionally, she served as a Municipal Town Clerk for the Town of Midland. She retired in October 2023, after serving the Town for over twenty years. Despite the clerical nature of her job, she still found ways to unleash her creative spirit in the workplace. She designed the Midland Town Seal and completed several pieces of commissioned artwork for the town, including a rendering of the Old Bethel School.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Jenna and Haley Kachmarik, her brothers, Deane and Louis Anderson, and several close friends. She is remembered for her kindness, strong will, and immense creativity and will be missed by many.
