Ronald Lee Sigrist, born on April 8, 1950, in Dover, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Throughout his life, Ron distinguished himself as a dedicated professional, and an engaged community member.
Ron spent nearly three decades working in the field of information technology at Wachovia/Wells Fargo, contributing his skills and expertise from 1987 until his retirement in 2015. His academic journey began at Jackson High School in Ohio, where he laid the foundation for his passion in Mathematics. He pursued further education at Kent State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and later acquired a Master's degree in Computer Science from RTI.
Quiet by nature, Ron was a man of profound thought and reflection. He enjoyed engaging with family, often sharing moments watching movies together, and was an avid reader who valued knowledge and learning. Significant to his personal development, Ron was an active participant in Toastmasters, where he honed his public speaking skills and achieved the esteemed title of Distinguished Toastmaster.
In his early years, Ron was also active in the Forsyth County Democratic Party, reflecting his commitment to community service and civic engagement. Additionally, he was a long-time member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, contributing significantly to the congregation as an Elector, LEM, Sunday School Teacher, Vestry member, and through participation in the Cursillo ministry. He devoted many years to the Education for Ministry (EFM), mentoring various groups, reflecting his dedication to both faith and fellowship. When possible, he attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Concord, North Carolina, remaining rooted in his community and spiritual life.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Sigrist, with whom he shared over 54 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children, Leanne (Sam) Barron and Daniel (Trisha) Sigrist, and his cherished grandchildren, Callum, Aubrey, Max, Timothy, and Finley. He is remembered fondly by his sister, Janice Brust, his brother, Gary (Crista) Sigrist, his brother-in-law, Vincent(Lucy), his brother-in-law, John(Joyce), and his sister-in-law Barbara(David).
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Sigrist and Marie Sigrist. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to family, and unwavering service to his community. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
