Sarah Catherine Howe Ratliff, born on July 23, 1972, in Corry, PA, passed away peacefully in Concord, NC, on January 5, 2026, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Howe and was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, and a friend to many.
Sarah was known for her Matthews 5:16 personality, which reflected her vibrant spirit and deep faith. She touched the lives of countless individuals with her loving heart, infectious smile, and genuine nature. Unashamed of her faith, she was a prayer warrior and an intercessor, sharing the message of Jesus Christ through her journey with cancer. Her ability to connect with people was remarkable; often, strangers would share their life stories with her within moments of meeting her.
Sarah had a passion for scrapbooking and displayed an affinity for all genres of music, especially jazz and worship, a love inherited from her father, a jazz musician. Family was at the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She aspired to be a wife and a mother, roles she embraced wholeheartedly.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 25 years, Kym Ratliff; her daughters, Aliyah Ratliff and Brooke Ratliff; her mother, Connie Howe-Ham; her sister, Amy Howe Bogan, and her husband Luke; her brother, Edward Howe; and her nephews, Michael Mundia, William Howe, Joseph Howe-Hamilton, and Benjamin Howe-Jones, along with a host of extended family and friends who will dearly miss her presence.
A visitation will be held on January 10, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM at Raymer-Kepner Chapel, located at 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC, 28078. The burial will take place at Mount Zion UMC Community Cemetery, 19600 Zion Ave, Cornelius, NC, 28031, immediately following service.
Sarah's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever be held close in the hearts of those who knew her.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthews 5:16
