Shirley Coleman, age 91 years old, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away on June 20th, 2026.

Shirley always sought spiritual guidance and started studying the bible with a former high school classmate. On October 16th, 1975, Shirley was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Everything after that was dedicated to Jehovah. Shirley loved sharing bible truths with many and working in the ministry developing relationships with the friends. Her sense of positive wisdom and kindness was woven into everything she did. She was always willing to share one of her favorite scriptures in Prov 3:5-7 which guided her to put her trust in Jehovah. Her other favorite scripture was Isaiah 41:10 which gave her faith that Jehovah would always help her. Shirley always enjoyed the ministry, even serving as a Pioneer for several years in Pennsylvania. Shirley aided many individuals into the truth over the years. Even when Shirley could no longer go from door-to-door, she wrote letters, sent texts and witnessed to her caregivers.

After Shirley married and gave birth to her two daughters, she went back to school for a career in the business/office field. She worked for an Import/Export co in NYC for over 10 years. In Pennsylvania, Shirley enjoyed her part-time job at Lehigh County Community College for 17 yrs before retiring and moving to Charolotte with her husband Lenny.

Shirley has accomplished so many things in her lifetime as a student of Arts High School in Newark studying music and four years of piano. Shirley went on to attend The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and recorded a record. Along the way she studied interpretive dance. In her early years Shirley was an accomplished seamstress with a prize-winning garment displayed in the lobby of Newark City Hall.

Shirley always enjoyed the ministry, even serving as a Pioneer for several years in Pennsylvania.

Shirley never met a stranger. She enjoyed family, friends old and new, cooking, entertaining, shopping and if you knew her…. you know she loved a good meal and her desserts!!

It is difficult to reduce a loved one’s life into a few paragraphs, because Shirley moved through life with grace, dignity and unmistakable style. We all know this is not the end of her story, but just a pause, until Rev 21:3,4 is fulfilled.
