Tammy Lynn Fink

Tammy L. Fink, 60, formerly of Meadville, PA, passed away peacefully September 2nd, 2021 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tammy was born December 17th, 1960, the daughter of the late William and Esther Smith. She graduated from Maplewood High School in 1978 (where she threw flaming batons as a drum majorette!) and later married Robert M. Fink, raising their three sons in the Saegertown area.

Tammy grew up playing outside in the Pennsylvania woods, the beginning of her love and appreciation for God’s creation. Hiking in the woods was a favorite and she had the Camelbak, walking stick, and license plate to prove it! Tammy was a very creative person and gifted with many artistic talents. She hand-made her sons’ Halloween costumes each year, sewed elaborate puppets and dolls, as well as quilts for her grandchildren. She loved painting, her favorite one that of Little Cooley Church in Pennsylvania, and sold her work in craft shows. Tammy was blessed with a beautiful voice, and she loved to sing along to almost anything. She had a strong work ethic and for years, she cut and styled hair in the Meadville area and later on in Charlotte until she retired in 2017 for medical reasons.

Tammy moved to Charlotte to be closer to her sons, and soon after became a believer in Jesus Christ. She was a faithful church attender and used her gifts on the worship team at Grace Covenant Church. In recent years, she was a member at Living Faith Baptist Church. Tammy often wrote of her faith in Christ and love for her family.

Tammy was a loving mother to her three sons and their faithful cheerleader in the bleachers at innumerable baseball, football, basketball, and volleyball games. For years, she was a caring mother-in-law to Erin, Heather, and Maria and a very proud “Tamaw” to her twelve grandchildren, posting their pictures on Facebook often. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, her specialties including homemade soups, hard tack Christmas candy, and delicious cupcakes and cookies. Tammy had a big, beautiful smile and an easy laugh that are missed.

She is survived by her three sons, Benjamin (Erin), Jesse (Heather), Cody (Maria), twelve grandchildren, Natalie, Kimberly, Haddon, Adelai, Theo, Gideon, Avery, Elsie, Esme, Owen, Tobias and Lottie, siblings Shawn Smith, Syleste Foltz and Katrina Griswold, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Esther Smith and a nephew Tyler Griswold.
