Wafa T. Anderson, a beloved Accounts Payable Specialist at Compass Group USA, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Concord, North Carolina. Born on September 26, 1974, in Bagdad, Iraq, Wafa was known for her caring and giving nature, earning her a reputation as an all-around loving person who brought joy to everyone around her. She truly was the life of the party, always lighting up the room with her vibrant personality.Wafa had a diverse range of interests that reflected her spirited character. She loved music, shopping, and indulging in jewelry and perfumes, which were just a few of her cherished pleasures. Cooking was another passion of hers, as well as maintaining her fitness through trips to the gym and enjoying her beloved morning coffee. A sweet tooth for chocolate brought her much delight, and her love of swimming was a testament to her active lifestyle. Above all, Wafa treasured spending time with her family, creating memories that they will forever hold close to their hearts.

She is survived by her cherished daughter, Unique Anderson, granddaughter Ulani Phillips, siblings: sister Sue Soares; brothers Romel Mekhaeel, Romeo Mekhaeel, Valentino Mekhaeel, Von Baker; her ex-husband and friend Jamile Anderson, her son Justin Phillips. and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and friends. Wafa was preceded in death by her parents, Touma and Kamilya Mekhaeel, as well as her sister, Wafa Mekhaeel.

A memorial gathering in honor of Wafa T. Anderson will be held on January 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Raymer-Kepner Chapel located at 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078.

Wafa’s compassionate spirit and vibrant presence will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love and joy lives on through her family and friends, who remember her fondly.
