Willie had a special appreciation for the finer things in life—especially when it came to looking sharp. He took great pride in getting dressed up and sliding behind the wheel of a spotless, new Cadillac, always ready to make an entrance with quiet confidence and charm. At home, Willie and his devoted wife, Velma, were a hosting team unlike any other. Their home was often filled with friends, laughter, and the joyful energy of gatherings they created together. Whether it was a holiday celebration or a simple get-together, Willie made everyone feel welcome.
He treasured time spent playing cards with friends, often surrounded by the familiar sounds of 60s soul music—his favorite. Willie also enjoyed relaxing in front of his home entertainment system, watching movies or cheering on his favorite sports teams with enthusiasm.
Willie is survived by his loving wife, Velma, who remained by his side throughout his life’s journey. Willie and Velma had 4 children - Deborah A. (deceased), Angela, Evangela (deceased) and Willie Jr. Willie was predeceased by his parents Gladys Walker and James Sykes.
