Gary Gene Clark

Mr. Gary Gene Clark, 69, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Monday April 12, 2021 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center-Main, after a valiant 9 month battle with Aggressive High Grade Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the esophagus.

Mr. Clark was born October 10, 1951 in Mooresville, NC to the late Edgar T. and Beulah Lunsford Clark. He attended Camden Military Academy in Camden, SC after which he bravely served his country in the United States Marine Corp Headquarter Battalion in Da Nang, Vietnam as well as 2 years in the reserves. Mr. Clark used his skills in various positions of employment before retiring from Pilkington Libbey-Owens-Ford with plans of going to Thailand.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Pranee, who resides in Khon Kaen, Thailand, 3 children Laura Klavonic of Sumter, SC, Angela (Tristan) Teasley of Huntersville, NC, and Joseph (Amanda) Clark of Lincolnton, NC. 12 grandchildren Tyler and Justin Klavonic, Alyssa Nelson, Jacob, McKenna, and Sawyer Teasley, Jonathon Whitley, Caleb, Kaylee, Savanna, Willow, and Emma Clark. Brothers Eddy (Brenda) Clark of House Springs, Missouri and Kenneth (Rosa) Clark of Charlotte, NC.  Mr. Clark is also survived by the children and grandchildren of his wife, Pranee, former wife Yvonne Clark of Lincolnton, NC and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Alberto Mizrachi and staff of Levine Cancer Institute, Huntersville, Dr. Kevin Roof and staff of Novant Huntersville Radiation Oncology, Dr. Stuart Burri, Dr. Scott Wait, Dr Jonathan Salo, Dr. Terrance Pugh, Dr. Justin Swartz, Dr. Katrina Gleditsch and all of the wonderful therapists, nurses, and other staff members of Carolinas Rehabilitation Atrium Health and Lake Norman Home Health, especially those of the MICU and palliative teams for their tremendous care and compassion of Mr. Clark and our family. 

Services for Mr. Clark will take place on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at Harrisburg Funeral and Cremation at 3840 NC-49, Harrisburg, NC, 28075. Visitation will begin at 10 am with service immediately following at 1045am. Interment will follow at 1pm at the VA National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC. Masks are required for services.
