Scarlet Kittylee Boudreaux

The theatre community mourns the departure of a beautiful soul, Scarlet Kittylee Boudreaux, nee Karen Wayland on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in Indian Trail, NC.

She offered her hand in friendship, filled our hearts with love and graced our stages for the past few years in the Carolinas and in countless theatres in Alaska, Chicago and Tennessee prior. Scarlet was a vivacious actress with great talent onstage and behind the scenes and always had a moment to share both her infamous nursery rhymes and her experience. She loved her companion dog August with as much passion as she loved theatre. Scarlet had an A. A. in Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts and studied in Chicago at the Sherwood Conservatory. In Alaska she was the Manager of blackbox theatre, Cyrano’s Playhouse. Scarlet had extensive performance and backstage experience and her favorite roles included a featured role as Christine in Buster Drumwright with Tony winner John Collum, Amanda in The Glass Menagerie, and Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress and her final role as Hannah in The Spitfire Grill touched her deeply.

A graduate of Bearden High, Scarlet was preceeded in death by her parents.  Her friends all across the country are blessed to have known her and will miss her dearly.

It was Scarlet’s wish for her body to be donated to science and that is being fulfilled at no cost. In lieu of donations, please support your local theatre wherever you are and ask them to dedicate a performance in Scarlet’s name.
